Margaret Wasiuta - Silence

acrylic on canvas - 16'' x 20''

The imaginary world depicted in the "Blue series" simply reflects my longing for something unspecified and unattainable… something that was always missing and for which my longing has been intensified over the last few years. Looking for the purest sound, this multi-layered mix of structural space attempts to integrate geometric and organic forms into a calm dreamscape without borders. The mood/vibe/ambiance I wanted to create required a quiet colour and tone with an undercurrent of floating and wandering light. This series was heavily influenced and inspired at different times by love, depth, space, water, wind and a descent into the great unknown.

SECOND PLACE

Marjorie Moskowitz - Bearded Iris III

oil on canvas - 36'' x 48''

I am a landscape painter living in and maintaining my studio in southern California. My current oil paintings of colorful, engaging but otherwise overlooked and isolated flora magnified to reveal their importance. Subject matter is discovered from remote to obvious locations across the country. Coming from an orientation in abstraction, my choice to work in a close focus realistic style remains ever mindful of the abstraction that exists in nature.

Chen Yang Chan - Weekend at the Bali Ferry Dock

oil on canvas - 19'' x 13''

Blue is the color of trust, loyalty, and honesty. Therefore it always feels sincere, reserved and quiet. Blue is a color that doesn’t like to attract attention or show off. It likes to practice life in its own way.challenge and an uphill battle.
