Jana Jaros - Recognition

acrylic on canvas - 36'' x 26''

Is the Story Getting Through? While anatomical structure is important to me in technique, it is not what drives me to choose my subject matter. Each of my paintings is derived from a story, experience or an idea. I want to reach and connect to the emotional impact of them. During the hours and days I work om each piece, there is a narrative going in my thoughts about it. I become completely invested and connected to my canvas through my brush. These is where I derive my focus and subject. It starts from perspective, traverses situation and finishes with title. A complete narrative.

Luan Quach - Repentance

watercolor - 15'' x 22''

Portrait painting goes far beyond merely a painting of a face; with each piece of art, I strive to create unique and dynamic memories that can be deeply personal and evoke long lasting emotional connections to the viewers. I like to portray people of different ethnic backgrounds. My art knows no latitudes or social class. The humanity as told is a meeting of different cultures, each one indispensable for others.
