Fiona Groom - Peek A Boo

acrylic on canvas - 40 x 50 cm

As an Artist I like to create emotion, reaction and narrative in my work. The Natural World, but manly Animal Life are what inspire and inform me on what direction I need to take, and as the composition slowly comes to life, this new painting has established itself with its own story, its own response to evoke and a sentiment that lingers on.

Jyl Blackwell - Diceros

digital art - 20″ x 16″

I have always loved all things creative. Since childhood, I have written music and poetry, enjoyed working with textiles and fiber arts, and telling compelling stories through photography and traditional art mediums. My art arrived on the scene when I was able to form art and technology into a process, I call Kinetic Flow Painting™. Swirling layers of gradient pixels are put into motion and painted on the digital canvas. Sometimes these layers reside on their own and sometimes they are incorporated into photographic or digital collages. Several software programs are used to create each elemental note that is composed into one cohesive piece. Often, new advances in software send me in an entirely new direction but always with the same process of extracting the essence of the piece through color and curve, form and light - music for the eyes." Jyl is a retired professional photographer whose passion for photography has not retired! She is a freelance photo retoucher and has a love of Photoshop and digital art. Her art seeks to illuminate the unseen and express emotion through the blending and interplay of digital layers. Swirling layers of gradient pixels are put into motion and painted on the digital canvas. Sometimes these layers reside on their own and sometimes they are incorporated into photographic or digital collages. Drawing from intuition and experience and thus extracting only those elements of color, line, and luminance that define the subject, she creates a unique vision of the world around us. Leaning toward abstraction to simplify her vision, she allows the viewer to reflect upon his or her emotional response to each element or the entirety of the piece. Jyl's art can be found in galleries and wineries in the Seattle area. She has been awarded in multiple international competitions.

Dan Pyle - An Imposing Presence

charcoal - 18'' x 28''

Dan was born in Montana, grew up in Washington State and now lives in California. With virtually no formal art training, Dan has been drawing since childhood. His internationally award-winning charcoal drawings has been exhibited in gallery shows in Palm Springs, Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Hollywood, Santa Ana, Pasadena, Long Beach, New York, Provincetown and West Hollywood. Dan is also now represented in Europe and travels there yearly for live shows. With his client base extending as far away as Malaysia and Australia his work is becoming known worldwide. Dan’s work is permanently installed in the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, as part of their impressive commercial art collection and he participated in the epic Art Takes Times Square event in New York City. His drawings have also been published in numerous art magazines & books, both domestically and internationally. Working exclusively in charcoal, Dan uses a realistic style that mimics photography to the point that his drawings are often mistaken for photos. He loves shadows, contrast, anonymity and using negative space in his compositions. Dan’s gifted eye catches timeless fragments of life in his work---whether it’s the intricate lines of the human hand, the delicate folds of a garment, or a tarnished piece of silver, they are drawn in detailed simplicity. Dan’s work celebrates his relentless enthusiasm for detail, through a vast collection of subject matter. From muscular figures, to distressed objects from the past, he continues to challenge perfection.

Adam Barth - Osprey Flight

photography - 21'' x 16''

I am a photographer who found the camera - Olympus OMD E-M5 Mark III - to be a medium for sobriety in 2021. A newfound joy in painting from rehab grew into an insatiable passion for photography. I choose to print on ultraHD Fuji Crystal because it allows for the vibrancy and saturation of color, while retaining the image sharpness. I strive to capture animals in their natural habitat, undisturbed by my presence. I look for the extraordinary moments found within the ordinary, every day actions of these magnificent animals. My photographs also strive to highlight what I see as extraordinary - whether it's the animal's movement, color, or details.
